Bio
Raised bilingually in a small town in Québec, Guerric now lives in Vancouver, BC, on the gloriously mosquito-free edge of the Pacific.
They spent five years living in Germany and returned with a degree in Philosophy, after which they promptly jumped into the games industry as a designer and occasional programmer. They also work in animal care on a part-time basis, and when they aren’t working they like to spend time in the kitchen, buried in books or games, or looking after their two cats and too many plants.
Writing
Guerric’s interest in science-fiction and fantasy has long been symbiotic with their obsessive desire to write stories. They love stories that mix genres and settings, that explore liminal spaces and people caught between multiple identities, and that deal with characters struggling to overcome their own flaws.
More than anything, they appreciate stories about overcoming internal obstacles and personal wounds, set against the backdrop of imaginative and strange worlds that envision other ways the world, society, and life itself might work.
